Colby Community College Adult Education Program This program has been in place since the early ‘60’s and serves learners in a variety of ways. Classes are available to prepare for the Kansas High School Diploma offered through the Kansas Board of Regents, to raise skill levels in math, reading, writing, and technology. Classes focus on how to budget and manage money, how to obtain and keep a job, and how to do computer and internet basics. All classes are without charge. Instructors lead students through an individual learning plan to accomplish their goals. This is not a computer based program, while technology is available; it is used to enhance learning not as the method to learn. Colby serves all of northwest Kansas and has outreach sites in Goodland, Norton, Phillipsburg and Hays. Special classes are added when local partners request a specific area of need. For example the money management and the work place essential skill programs were local requests.
